A letter of Good Standing is issued by the Department of Labour to compliant businesses.

Letter of Good Standing for COID

A Letter of Good Standing is a document issued by the COID Commissioner.

  • Once you receive your “CF Registration number” you then have to submit your Return Of Earnings (ROE) every year. 
  • The COID Commissioner will assess what has to be paid based on the risk profile of your business.
  • The Letter of Good Standing shows that you meet the requirements of the Compensation Act. 
  • The Letter of Good Standing also allows you to claim from the Compensation Fund. 
  • When applying for tenders, a valid Letter of Good Standing for COID is one of the requirements. 
  • You cannot obtain a Letter of Good Standing if you don’t apply for the CF registration number and submit your annual assessment first.

Renewals of Letter of Good Standing

  • A Letter of Good Standing is only valid for a year, and does expire each year. 
  • You have to apply for a letter of Good Standing annually, after submitting your Return Of Earnings (ROE). This is a yearly submission. 
  • A Letter of Good Standing for COID shows that you are up to date with your yearly ROE submissions, and that there are no outstanding payments due.. 
  • You will not be able to apply for a new Letter of Good Standing for COID if your ROE fees are not up to date.
